Her Foundation in Holistic Healing
Mary's healing journey began at 25, after transitioning from three years in computer technical support. She left to explore self-discovery through Yoga, Meditation, and Reiki, which led her to a comprehensive, three-year Transpersonal Therapy program. She completed this program at age 29. This intensive training immersed her in both Eastern and Western healing traditions, specifically equipping her to support individuals navigating Spiritual Emergence. Her therapeutic toolkit from this period includes Gestalt, Psychodrama, Jungian Psychology, Somatic Experiencing, Bioenergetics, Dreamwork, Holotropic Breathwork, Meditation, and Shamanic Healing Traditions.
Following her Transpersonal training, Mary became a Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Teacher. In the past 21 years, she has specialized as a Restorative Yoga teacher, having taught over 9,000 yoga classes and trained 400 yoga teachers in her specialized practice. Her dedication to offering somatic healing practices is further supported through certifications in Thai Yoga Massage and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. Recognizing the intricate connection between physical well-being and overall health, she also trained as a Medical Exercise Specialist, enabling her to design customized physical rehabilitation practices for injuries, surgeries, and various health conditions. Currently a Reiki Level 2 practitioner, Mary has continuously deepened her expertise over two decades with additional training in Pre-Natal Yoga, Non-Violent Communication, Meditation, Shamanic Energy Work, and several Woman Within trainings, all contributing to her commitment to cultivating conscious community. A Compassionate and Knowledgeable Guide
Mary's distinctive approach involves blending wisdom practices from around the world through trauma-informed somatic bodywork, massage, yoga, and transpersonally oriented practices. Her deep understanding of anatomical alignment and movement therapies ensures that clients receive safe and effective practices that foster self-awareness and self-care, promoting healing, expansion, and overall well-being. Her somatic work and yoga classes draw from Iyengar & Anusara traditions and integrate mindful somatic movement with transpersonally oriented explorations for knowledge, healing, strengthening, and inspiration.
Mary has a profound ability to help individuals feel safe and relaxed while guiding them in somatic practices that release tension and limiting beliefs. She offers a wide spectrum of supports that help individuals integrate their unconscious "shadow" parts and explore all aspects of their life to create a greater sense of wholeness. She empowers individuals to discover their courage in expressing their authentic "Self."
