Soma-Somatics
Soma-Somatics
Drawing on 25 years of experience in Restorative Yoga, bodywork, and transpersonal group processes, Mary bring to New Track her unique integration approach called Soma-Somatics. The name is inspired by "Soma," an ancient yogic drink for spiritual insight, and "Somatics," which refers to the body as it's experienced from within. Her sessions blend Restorative Yoga, breathwork, and transpersonal explorations designed to both prepare and integrate psychedelic or expanded-state journeys.
Mary's body-centered approach recognizes that true healing and insight from these journeys are rooted in the physical self, not just the mind. By exploring the sensations, emotions, and memories that arise, you can process and embody the wisdom of your journey. Embodying these insights is crucial because it transforms a temporary revelation into a lasting part of who you are. This somatic work helps:
Bridge the gap between mind and body: It anchors insights into the physical self, turning a conceptual understanding into a felt, lived experience.
Process trauma and emotions: By safely releasing stored tension, it allows for healing from the bottom up, minimizing overwhelm.
Regulate the nervous system: It grounds and calms the nervous system, which can become dysregulated after an intense experience.
Move from theory to practice: It provides the tangible "how-to" for applying your insights in daily life.
Prevent spiritual bypassing: It keeps you present and grounded, ensuring your insights lead to real, tangible changes rather than just a mental escape.
In essence, while a psychedelic journey can open the door to profound understanding, somatic work helps you walk through it and build a new, more integrated way of being.
